I do believe that when you have a dream, and it sustains you and nurtures you, from childhood onwards, then that dream is what you are meant to be doing in your precious time on the planet.
Here are some stories of people achieving their dream.
Notice the importance of developing a dream, visualizing it, and believing it. In most cases, these people nurtured their dreams, and believed in the power of their dreams so much, that when opportunities came their way, they were physically, mentally, and spiritually ready to go forward.

Adam Lambert
A contestant on American Idol Season 8, he wowed audiences and the judges, but before that he had been performing, singing and dancing, ever since childhood. He graduated from the same high school I did, but he was classmates with my sister. Here he is singing at his graduation ceremony:
I first heard about writing a check to yourself from Jim Carrey, on one of the late-night talk shows, who explained that he wrote a check to himself for a certain amount (I think $20 million) and kept it in his wallet with the intent to cash it when he finally received that salary (1996, The Cable Guy). He used the check to remind himself of how much he believed in his dream of becoming a big comedian and entertainer. He literally pulled out the check (it was all torn and ratty) from his wallet. Do you have a check like that, written out to yourself?
Keep something like that in a very obvious and significant place.
